One of a Kind
Sold at the 2013 EQLA charity auction for $320.00!
Last year one of my first pony themed designs was Celestia Raises the Sun
which sold at the 2012 Canterlot Gardens charity auction. Well at long last, I present Princess Luna raising the moon! A pendant donation to the 2013 Equestria LA charity auction
This pendant is entirely hand crafted! The moon and Luna's mane are made from silver sheet, and Luna's body is made from Steel sheet. It measures 2 inches in width, and slightly over 2 inches in height.
The silver in the moon background is reticulated. This is a process of heating up the silver, and quenching it dozens of times to bring a coating of pure silver to the surface. I then heat the silver to almost melting point, which causes it to wrinkle, giving it that bumpy, cratery look. An ideal finish for a moon's surface.
The silver pieces are soldered together, and the steel piece is tack welded to the mane, and moon. The black cord it hangs on is 24" homemade cord that is twice as thick as the leather cords I offer with most of my designs.
On another note, I've tried some new tricks with lighting and special effects which I'm hoping gives my designs more depth, and causes less gamma in the photos. Feel free to give me your opinions on the photo quality, as well as the quality of the piece itself.
